The Akwa Ibom State government held a special gala night event to celebrate an eminent daughter Mrs. Dorathy Ufot who has just been awarded the first female African Arbitrator for the year 2020, in an event which was organized by the East Africa International Arbitration Conference in Nairobi, Kenya.
Speaking at the event, the wife of the state governor, Dr. Martha Udom Emmanuel noted that Mrs. Dorathy Ufot carved a niche for herself in the law sector and serves as a role model to the women folk and today it is worthy that she is celebrated her not just as an African mother but a daughter of Akwa Ibom which Akwa Ibom State is proud of.
She also went ahead to acknowledge the United Nations Organization (U.N.O) for her unique sagacity in recognizing and setting aside March 8th globally to focus on women who are the engine-room for world peace and stability. The theme for this year’s celebration which is ‘Women in Leadership: Achieving an equal future in a COVID-19 world’
