The Wife of Akwa Ibom State Governor, Her Excellency, Dr. Mrs. Martha Udom Emmanuel, today commended and applauded the leadership and members of ImaBrdge Africa Foundation for their consistent charitable ventures in healthcare delivery, educational empowerment and other charitable services, when she received a delegation of the group led by the founding president, Rev. Fr. Godwin Asuquo, who were at Government House to brief her on the state of affairs of the foundation.
“I sincerely appreciate you all for the sacrifices you have made in bettering the lots of our people over these years. Some of you have journeyed down here just for humanitarian purpose; this is so heart-warming and very commendable.
Let me specially thank the founding president of this organization Rev. Fr. Godwin Asuquo for being a leading light and for making Akwa Ibom proud, I have no doubt that God will continually reward you abundantly,” First Lady Martha Emmanuel remarked.
On the area of partnership with the organization, the governor’s wife said she was open for a synergy that would benefit the people of the state, noting that her pet-project, Family Empowerment and Youth Reorientation Path-Initiative FEYReP, has been at the forefront of providing life-saving opportunities to vulnerable families across the state.
“Your interests in the provision of free healthcare services, education and women empowerment dovetail into what I have been doing through my non-governmental platform FEYReP. I welcome any partnership that will further consolidate on the gains we have made so far,” said Mrs. Emmanuel.
The founding President of ImaBridge Africa, Rv. Fr. Godwin Asuquo, in his remarks said they were on the visit to brief the governor’s wife on the successes recorded by the organization.
The Catholic Priest noted that since inception twelve years ago in the United States of America, the organization has consistently carried out successful programs which have been beneficial to the people.
He highlighted that the organization has special interests in women empowerment through entrepreneurship development, provision of clean water supply to rural communities and education empowerment which according to him, have provided over 400 students with scholarships to study at various tertiary institutions across the country, while also giving out free laptops to secondary schools students.
He informed the governor’s wife that the state-of-the-art ImaBridge Medical Centre which she laid the foundation in 2018 would soon be up for commissioning, saying it will be a thing of joy to have the governor’s wife inaugurate the edifice.
Also speaking, the President of ImaBridge Africa, USA, Catharine Carrington, said for the past decade, the group has been involved in free medical outreaches which have offered thousands of Akwa Ibomites lifelines.
In a vote of thanks, the Chairman, Board of Directors, Mr. Raphael Edem, while thanking the governor’s wife for granting the group audience despite her busy schedule, said he elected to accept his nomination to serve in the board, having seen that ImaBridge Africa is one organization that is very consistent in remitting back to its roots.
