AK FIRST LADY CHARGES PARENTS ON FAMILY VALUES

Wife of Akwa Ibom Governor Mrs. Martha Udom Emmanuel has called on parents, guardians to teach and inculcate good moral values in their wards in order to secure their future and make them better and worthy citizens. The first lady made the call when she received a delegation of BEAUTIFUL IMAGINATIONS, organizers of the little Miss Akwa Ibom beauty pageant at government house.

Speaking Mrs. Emmanuel lauded the organizers of the little Miss Akwa Ibom beauty pageant for their insightful and visionary initiative in floating an outfit that is geared towards raising children to becoming assets to their family and the society at large. She also commended the chairperson of the group Mrs. Itoro Etim for her ingenuity over the years in organizing the event saying that she was elated by what she was doing to help the girl-child in the society.

She admonished the little Miss Akwa Ibom, Miss Rachel Ekpo not to relegate her academic pursuit to the background, but rather stay focused and study hard so as to be a good ambassador of the group and the state.

Earlier in her address, little miss Akwa Ibom, Miss Rachel Ekpo congratulated the first lady for their success at the polls and subsequent swearing in as the first family of Akwa Ibom state adding that, indeed it is a divine manifestation of the hand of God.

She also appreciated the organizers of the beauty pageant for creating a platform to nurture and groom the girl-child stating that she has been afforded the opportunity of learning good moral values that will aide in her push through life.. She also solicited for the first lady’s support on her upcoming project slated later this year.

Also speaking, chairperson of the group, Mrs. Itoro Etim highlighted the aims and objectives of the organization to include; raising the girl-child to become an asset to the society. She said the group established 10years ago does this through fashion, movie production and pageantry, Mrs. Etim thereafter called for a synergy between government and the group in touching the lives of teenagers and youth.

Highpoint of the visit was the award of the ‘Grand Patron’ of the Little Miss Akwa Ibom project on the first lady, Mrs. Martha Udom Emmauel.
